One of the many things I’ve learned is what foods, products, and supplements you are putting in/on your body. Eat as clean as possible which includes whole foods (proteins, fats, and vegetables) and try to avoid processed foods! BPA is also an issue so stay away from plastics and use glass when reheating foods up and etc.
Chemicals are in products we use daily and can impact fertility. We should really read and understand the ingredients and protect ourselves inside and out.
One thing I found out at the dermatologist regarding my skin was to use mineral based sunscreen as there are many chemicals in others. “Mineral” should be displayed on the bottle. With that said, I have switched to BeautyCounter products over the last year. They use safe products and trying to make a difference.
In addition, my acupuncturist had me bring in my supplements and medications to review each one. She was not a fan of the NatureMade brand (I was using it for my prenatal vitamin). It is one capsule/day and she mentioned that it’s hard to get all the nutrients you need in one as well as absorb it properly. She recommended New Chapter Prenatal Vitamins – I purchased the 1st trimester quantity as it’s cost effective and the liquid DHA by Nordic Naturals, Omega-3 (liquid is better for absorption). You can find these at Whole Foods but it’s less expensive on Amazon.
