Cysty Ho

by Janet June 5, 2018 1 Comment

It’s been some time since I last wrote a post.  I have less time to focus on the blog since I have returned to work in mid-April.  I also changed job roles so I am learning a new event program.

A quick update on what’s happening now. The doctor had found a functional cyst, Cysty Ho, at my last visit.  The cyst caused my body to not produce many follicles (eggs) and delayed my menstrual cycle. The doctor said I needed to wait for Aunt Flo, who would arrive between 3 to 30 days.  So I waited and I had all the symptoms Aunt Flo was coming but she just never arrived.

  • Cycle Day 36 – I contacted my clinic and let them know that Aunt Flo was late.  They asked if I was possibly pregnant and I confirmed I was not. We have been warned to be safe to prevent any more damage (miscarriage could cause more lining damage).
  • Cycle Day 43, Dr. prescribed progesterone for 10 days to help Aunt Flo arrive.  It was timed as I had a work trip last week. The doctor needed to see me on the 2nd day of my cycle for a follicle count.
  • Cycle Day 52, Aunt Flo finally arrived and I saw the doctor this past Saturday.

Cysty Ho is still hanging around and hasn’t changed in size.  The doctor is putting me on low dose birth control for a month to hopefully get rid of the cyst (this is a functional cyst not the dermoid cysts I have had surgically removed in the past).  At the same time, the birth control will get all the follicles on the same playing field (same size) for an egg retrieval. I called my lining doctor to provide an update and he said to keep taking trental and added estrace to help with my lining.  With my new job, I wasn’t going to travel the month of June but as always when I make plans…..

It’s getting pretty comical on all the possible things that can happen. So more waiting…..
